Wavetables?

A decade of refinement.
A decade of more.
More features.
More presets.
More of the same.

We took the other road

A radical departure.
That feeling you've been chasing since 2014?
It's back.

In KONTRAST wavetables are displayed as grayscale images: higher precision, more intuition.

More than a straight line

Classic wavetable synths "slice" the audio into straight lines of audio.
That is quite limiting:
While there is only one straight line, there are millions of organic ones.

KONTRAST gives you an entire zoo of shapes, each with its own character.

Intuitive and fun

We spent a lot of time making sure you don’t have to think about how it works.

The engine models an analog, nonlinear circuit - a living beast: it creates complex and interesting interactions. Predictable and so much fun to discover.

Analog filters

KONTRAST has a powerful analog filter section with some magic ingredients:

  • MODAL adds resonance. Think of it as a comb-filter on steroids
  • INHARM allows you to bend your timbre towards sweet inharmonics
  • CHAINSAW is a unique distortion developed specifically for synth sounds

Sequencer

The build-in sequencer is super easy to use and makes it easy to create expressive rhythmic patterns that change over time or respond to your fingertips.

Modular FX section

Stack up to five effect modules per preset. KONTRAST comes with a selection of Reverbs, Delays, Chorus, Granular, MicroLooper, Phaser, Compressor, OTT ...

One more thing ...

  • MPE
  • VIBE mode, FAT and BITE to define the sound character with one click
  • Presets made by top sound designers like Spektralisk, Databroth, Arovane, Sound Author, Hydratek, Tom Avatars and others.
  • 90 days free trial

Last not least:

if you are like me you have LOTS of samples on your drive. Drag and drop these and you will see (and hear) your sounds with new eyes! After a few minutes you develop a new intuitive understanding of audio and how it looks like. And you will notice details that you could always

hear, but never see.

Once you know how typical audio looks like, bring it to the next level: take your phone and hunt for

wavetables by making photos:

  • bathtubs
  • structures
  • radiators ...

Or just paint it yourself. We made the brush be the first analog wavetable editor.
